Rural Psychiatry Associates has a deep bench of mental health providers, and through virtual appointments, a new patient can be seen by almost any provider on our team.
Successful treatment requires a strong connection between the patient and the provider. Our schedulers work hard to pair new patients with the right provider in order to set them up for success.
What Information Do Schedulers Need?
The information new patients provide when filling out our online appointment request form or during that first phone call is crucial. Our schedulers consider several factors when making assignments, and the questions they ask are essential to getting the information needed:
Question #1: Why Are You Seeking Care?
Are you needing someone with a background in PTSD, relationship issues, or family dynamics? We have providers who specialize in these areas. If you’re making an appointment for a child, you’ll want a provider who’s experienced in working with kids.
Being open and honest in what you need will greatly enhance efforts to pair you with the right mental health expert.
What Else Do Schedulers Consider?
Rural Psychiatry Associates’ schedulers then narrow down the list of providers who are most likely to be a fit based on the reason you are seeking care. They then look at those providers’ calendars to determine who has the earliest availability to meet with you.
Because we utilize telemedicine to provide care, our patients can be seen for their initial appointment in a matter of days, not weeks.
What If I Just Don’t Click With My Provider?
Our entire team knows a patient’s success depends on their connection to their provider. We ask our new patients to attend a couple appointments with the first provider assigned. If they still feel like they want to try meeting with someone else, we will work with them to find another provider who may be a better fit.
